This Privacy Policy explains how Akshay ("I", "me", "we"), trading as Akshay (akay.design), collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit this website or book a call through it. It's written in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. What I collect
- When you book a call: your name, email address, phone number, business name, and any comments you add, plus the date and time you select.
- Automatically, when you visit the site: your IP address (used only briefly to prevent spam/abuse on the booking form — never stored long-term or linked to your name), and standard analytics data (pages visited, device/browser type, approximate location, how you found the site) via Google Analytics.
- Website performance data (page load times) via Vercel Speed Insights — this isn't linked to you personally.
2. How I use it
- To respond to your enquiry and schedule the call you book.
- Your booking details are added as an event in my Google Calendar so I can prepare for and confirm the call.
- Analytics data helps me understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
- I don't use your data for advertising, and I don't sell it to anyone.
3. Who I share it with
- Google (Calendar and Analytics) — processed on Google's servers, which may be located outside India.
- Vercel — hosts this website and provides performance monitoring (Speed Insights) and visitor analytics (Vercel Analytics), processed on Vercel's servers which may be located outside India.
- I don't share your data with any other third party.
4. How long I keep it
- Booking details stay in my calendar until the engagement is complete, after which I delete them.
- IP addresses used for spam prevention are held in memory only and cleared automatically — never written to a database.
- Analytics data follows Google Analytics' and Vercel Analytics' standard retention periods.
5. Security
All data submitted through this site is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to booking data is limited to my Google Calendar account, protected by two-factor authentication. No personal data is stored in a database on this site. In the event of a personal data breach affecting your information, I will notify the Data Protection Board and you as required under the DPDPA.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDPA, you can ask what personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, withdraw consent at any time, and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity. To do any of this, email akay.design@proton.me — I'll respond within 15 business days. If you're not satisfied with how I've handled your request, you can raise it with India's Data Protection Board once it is operational.
7. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage. These aren't used for advertising or for tracking you across other websites. To withdraw your analytics consent at any time, email akay.design@proton.me or clear this site's data from your browser's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy → Site Data).
8. Children's data
This website is directed at adults only. If you are under 18, please do not submit your personal details through this site. If I become aware that personal data has been submitted by someone under 18, I will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy occasionally; the date at the top will always reflect the latest version. If a change affects how I process your personal data, I will aim to notify you before it takes effect.
